ON HANSON PLACE BEYOND THE PASSENGER STATION AND
MERHANDISE TERMINAL ENTRANCE WERE THEIR STATION AND OFFICE.








THREE FREIGHT ELEVATORS CONNECTED THIS EXPRESS STATION WITH THE LOWER LEVEL EXPRESS YARD.
THIS IS LOOKING WEST TOWARD THE MERCHANDISE TERMINAL.


IN THE DISTANCE TOWARD THE RIGHT,   BETWEEN THE DOOR AND BRICK WALL,   WAS A WATERLOGGED SIGN.






THIS IS LOOKING EAST TOWARD THE LONG ISLAND EXPRESS OFFICE.










INTERIOR OF THE LONG ISLAND EXPRESS COMPANY OFFICE AFTER A FIRE OR TWO.
IN THE DISTANCE TO THE RIGHT IS THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ACCESS TO TWO STAIRCASES.


THE STAIRWAY GOING DOWN TO THE TRACK LEVEL HAD BEEN
INSTALLED IN YEARS SUBSEQUENT TO THE 1908 CONSTRUCTION.
   



THE LOWER LEVEL EXPRESS TRACKS KNOWN AS "EX" YARD.




AFTER ABANDONMENT OF EXPRESS SHIPMENTS BY RAIL,   BOXCARS WERE LOADED AND/OR UNLOADED
HERE FOR J. RABINOWITZ & SONS.     A CONVEYOR BELT   -   VISIBLE AT THE RIGHT   -   MOVED CARTONS
BETWEEN HERE AND THE FORMER MERCHANDISE TERMINAL WHICH WAS RENTED BY RABINOWITZ .


THE EIGHT EXPRESS YARD TRACKS WERE CONTROLLED BY "EX" TOWER.


ABOUT 1920 TRACK SEVEN WAS REMOVED AND THE PLATFORM BROUGHT AROUND TO SERVE TRACK EIGHT.


TRACK SEVEN HAD RUN STRAIGHT BACK ADJACENT TO THE VERTICAL COLUMNS
AND STAIRCASE.   ON JULY 1, 1978 THE STATION TRACKS WERE RENUMBERED.
OLD TRACK SEVEN TO THE LEFT OF THIS PLATFORM BECAME TRACK ONE.
TRACKS ONE AND SEVEN WERE OUT OF SERVICE.
ON JULY 17, 1980 TRACK TWO - FORMERLY TRACK SIX - WAS REMOVED FROM SERVICE FOR CONSTRUCTION PURPOSES.   THE PLATFORM WAS EXTENDED EAST AND THE WEST END OF
TRACK ONE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL ALIGNMENT.   ON MAY 17, 1982 TRACKS
ONE AND TWO WERE RETURNED TO SERVICE WITH A CAPACITY OF TEN CARS EACH.
