THIS DOES NOT REFER TO SIGNALS WITH UPPER AND LOWER ARMS BUT EASTWARD AND
WESTWARD SIGNALS MOUNTED ON THE SAME MAST AS ON THE JAMAICA BAY TRESTLE.
THIS OCTOBER 31, 1948 FAN TRIP HAS A BRAND NEW DOUBLE DECKER, NUMBER 1294, AN MP54
AND A GONDOLA WITH RAILINGS AND SEATS AND HAS MADE A PHOTO STOP AT   THE RAUNT.

THE AUTOMATIC SIGNALS ON THE TRESTLE WERE ALL ON THE SOUTH SIDE,
EASTWARD AND WESTWARD SIGNALS SHARING THE SAME MASTS.
IN THE DISTANCE ARE A WESTWARD SEMAPHORE AND EASTWARD
POSITION LIGHT SIGNAL ON ONE MAST.                   W.J.Rugen photo




AT FAR LEFT IS ONE OF THE TEMPORARY SIGNAL CABINS - PROBABLY THE ONE AT
JOHNSON'S ROAD ON MAP ABOVE.   THE OLD EASTWARD TRACK IS STILL IN
SERVICE BUT WESTWARD TRAINS ARE USING THE NEW TRACK AT THE FAR RIGHT.
THE WESTWARD SIGNAL AT THE CABIN HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE NEW MAST AT THE
FAR RIGHT WHERE THE EASTWARD SEMAPHORE WILL BE MOUNTED ON JULY 13 (1906).


THE LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD RIGHT OF WAY WAS MOVED
NORTH BETWEEN B.R.T. JUNCTION AND SOUTH GREENFIELD



MANHATTAN  TERRACE - AVENUE  J  STATION


THIS WAS A BRIGHTON LINE STATION NOT A LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD STOP.
THIS IS THE NEW LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD RIGHT OF WAY.


NOVEMBER 1907 - BRIGHTON BEACH TRAINS ARE USING THE ELEVATED
TRACKS AND THE ABUTMENTS ARE IN PLACE FOR THE L.I.R.R. BRIDGES.


JUNE 2, 1910 - LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD TRACKS ARE NOW ON THE EMBANKMENT.


MAY 14, 1908 - LOOKING SOUTH FROM FORMER B.R.T. JUNCTION

THE NEW RIGHT OF WAY IS TO THE RIGHT.
TO THE LEFT ARE THE ORIGINAL TRACKS WHICH WERE STILL IN SERVICE.
TO THE FAR LEFT IS A CONTRACTOR'S 2-6-0 MOGUL LOCOMOTIVE
ON THE OLD BRIGHTON BEACH TRACKS.




THE SIGNAL AT THE RIGHT IS THE DISTANT SIGNAL
TO TOWER 75 ONE THOUSAND FEET EAST OF THE TOWER.




SOUTH  GREENFIELD



A WESTWARD MANHATTAN BEACH TRAIN AT SOUTH GREENFIELD CIRCA 1890


TOWER  76  and  SOUTH  GREENFIELD  STATION

JULY 12, 1906  -  A WESTWARD B.R.T. TRAIN OF OPEN ELEVATED CARS HAS LEFT THE
STATION ON THE NEW TRACK. THE NEW EASTWARD TRACK WILL BE OPENED NEXT DAY.
