OF FILLING MATERIAL WERE IMPORTED FROM SYOSSET. THE RIGHT OF WAY WAS MOVED SOUTH AND DOUBLE-TRACKED IN 1912. THE NEW LINE IS SHOWN IN RED.

THE ORIGINAL POLE LINE WAS STILL THERE AS LATE AS OCTOBER 1984
ONE AND SOMETIMES TWO STEAM SHOVELS EXCAVATED THE SYOSSET BORROW PIT.
IN 1911 THE RIGHT OF WAY WEST OF HERE WAS LOWERED BY APPROXIMATELY 22 FEET AND A CONCRETE BRIDGE WAS BUILT TO CARRY SOUTH WOODS ROAD OVER THE TRACKS. FILL WAS EXCAVATED FOR YEARS AFTER 1911.
